Families are welcome at Duff House and there are always lots of fun things to do especially for families with school age children. Younger visitors might like to take our new children's guidebook Duff House through the ages with them as they go round the house. It is free and copies are available in the Shop. We also have quizzes on hand to help spot unusual and sometimes hidden objects around the House. Depending on the time of year you can mix a witch's brew and hunt for bats or search for easter eggs carefully secreted about the place.
To make sure your visit is as stress free as possible we can provide museum buggies for smaller visitors, there is a lift to all floors and a cloakroom for leaving coats and heavy bags. The entry for families is £17.50 which can include up to 2 adults and 4 children. Under 5s are admitted for free but we ask that under 16s are always accompanied by an adult.
Outside there is an excellent children's play area with lots of rides and an assault course for older kids. Around the House are some magnificent horse chestnut trees and collecting conkers is a favourite activity for many families in the autumn. We also have bats roosting in the surrounding trees which can be spotted at dusk. Other wildlife seen and heard in the area are owls and red squirrels.
Do keep an eye on the events programme for family friendly events throughout the year like Santa's Sitting Room, family art workshops and of course our very popular outdoor theatre. Please contact us if you would like more details.
