The Duff House estate had many gardeners. In 1774 Alexander Geddes worked for Lord Fife. In the 1830s it was John Chapman and in the 1870s, it was the turn of John Donaldson. Chapman later emigrated to New Zealand where his family still live and Donaldson moved to the States.
