THE ALBA STRING QUARTET

Violins, Viola & Cello

The Alba String Quartet are a young, vibrant, Scottish-based ensemble with extensive performing experience and are currently the inaugural recipient of Enterprise Music Scotland's prestigious chamber music residency project.  This is an inspiring new two-year scheme designed to cultivate and encourage fine chamber music playing in Scotland and allows them to work collaboratively with contemporary composers and receive expert coaching from William Conway. The concert features a varied repertoire, including Mozart and Haydn through Schumann, Grieg, Ravel and Prokofiev to Piazzolla and works written for them by contemporary Scottish composers.
