Created in the Country House style the permanent collection contains paintings and furniture in the care of the National Galleries of Scotland. Visitors can browse at their leisure and enjoy furniture, including chairs by Chippendale, tapestries, and old masters by artists such as Gainsborough, Sir Henry Raeburn, El Greco and Allan Ramsay's stunning Mrs Elizabeth Cunnyngham (left).

Sherlock Holmes and his assistant Dr Watson, tackle the most baffling case of their careers when Sir Charles Baskerville is killed by a gigantic, spectral hound … an escaped convict roams the wastes of Dartmoor … and a distant howling is heard echoing in the moonlight.  Illyria promises a night of chills and chuckles in equal measure for all the family.
