Founded in 1997, the Friends of Duff House promote the work of the Duff House staff, encouraging members to enjoy the House, its treasures and its history. Their Patron is His Grace the 3rd Duke of Fife whose ancestors built Duff House and subsequently gifted it to the people of Banff and Macduff in 1906.
The Friends support comes from membership and fund-raising which helps to contribute to a programme of social, cultural and historical lectures and exhibitions, special projects and promotions to sponsor Duff House, its staff and its cultural programme. By joining the Friends you are helping the future of Duff House whether by practical assistance, encouragement and constructive suggestions or by assisting the House in practical ways.
The Friends enjoy free entry to Duff House excluding entry to some special events and to other National Galleries of Scotland venues. Membership brings advance notice of events and invitations to all Friends social and cultural activities provided in congenial company and unique, historical surroundings.
