Plan Your Visit

Duff House is located just outside the town of Banff, 47 miles north of Aberdeen. 2011 Admission prices for educational groups including schools is £2.35 per pupil. Teachers, group leaders, tutors and escorts are free. There may be an additional charge for art materials or workshop events. We encourage teachers to make a free preparatory visit and more information is available on the Teachers page. School visits should be booked at least 10 days in advance and there should be 1 adult per 10 pupils. Please let us know in advance if you would like an introductory talk about the house or to be provided with activity sheets and equally, if you are going around the House self-guided.

There is space for up to 4 coaches to park beside the Duff House Royal Golf Club (left hand turn off the approach road). Parking for cars is available in the Duff House car park also on the approach road to the House.

Toilets are available on the ground floor where there is also a Tearoom and Shop. Please warn us in advance if you think the group might use the Tearoom and please let us know if your group requires access before the House is open. We will try our best but we cannot guarantee this is possible.

School Parties may wish to view the introductory film before touring the house. It lasts around 15 minutes and gives an overview of the house’s restoration. It is not aimed at children but it is a useful orientation tool and they often enjoy looking out for items they see featured in the film.

Please let us know any particular access requirements in advance of your visit. A lift is available to all floors. Certain areas of the house have an induction loop for the hard of hearing. Wheelchair access is at the east side of the house where there is a lift to gallery floors. Accessible toilets are on the ground floor.
